Boston wins
PROBAC/LNA7 crown

With Jerald Abrot delivering 29 points, all in the second half, Boston Finance finally tamed Watchmen Daily Journal/ Vertex, 96-93, to capture the title in game three of the best-of-three final series of the 1st LNA7/PROBAC Invitational Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University gym.

A strong first quarter performance by Watchmen set the mood for an intense battle as WDJ registered a 21-15 advantage behind Ceasar Tan and Marion Opu-an’s combined output of 15 points, while Neil Deocuariza led Boston with 7 points.

JunJun Alisbo kept the Watchmen ahead by scoring 12 points in the second quarter for a 43-35 lead at the half.

Taboy Corriente exploded with 17 points in the third quarter to maintain the lead, but Boston stayed within striking distance as Abrot nailed 15 points.

Refusing to go away, Boston rallied in the fourth quarter with Abrot scoring 14 points and Yan Dy with 15 to power the team’s last run.

Alisbo tried to extend the game on a triple with eight seconds left in the game but his attempt fell short as Boston got away with the victory.*NAB
