Employee of city
bumps policeman

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

A Bacolod City employee who was reportedly speeding on his vehicle bumped a policeman manning traffic near the Lopue’s East mall in Brgy. Villamonte and was apprehended at about 5 p.m. yesterday.

Chief Insp. Luisito Acebuche identified the employer as Benjamin Gonzaga of Hacienda Lourdes, Brgy. Estefania, who is assigned at the Bacolod City Health Office.

In his report to Bacolod City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, Acebuche said Gonzaga insisted on entering the one-way zone and orally defamed the policemen.

Acebuche added that Gonzaga, who he claimed was observed to be under the influence of liquor, sped off in his Hyundai Tucson and hit Police Officer 2 Roland Villan.

The police is now preparing charges for grave threat, reckless driving, driving under the influence of liquor, and oral defamation against Gonzaga.*APN
