A 13-year-old girl was stabbed and killed Thursday in Brgy. Tagoc, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, and the suspect was arrested later by the police, Kabankalan police chief,Supt. Calixto Mabugat said yesterday.

The victim, Inocencia Tubal, 13, succumbed to seven stab wounds, he said.

Her lifeless body had been stripped of her shorts and underwear, a Kabankalan police report showed.

Mabugat said he has recommended an autopsy on the body to determine if she had been molested.

Pursuit operations by the Kabankalan police led to the arrest of the suspect identified as Jan Jan Espresa, 18, also of Barangay Tagoc.

Mabugat said the arrest was made when a witness provided them a tip that the stainless steel knife used in stabbing Tubal, was owned by the suspect.

He added that the suspect confessed to having killed the minor, for no reason at all. *GPB
