Station 4 policemen apprehended a barangay tanod and four other persons, one of them a minor, tagged in the P358,000 heist of a cargo forwarding company in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, Thursday.

Senior Insp. Dianne Grace Aquitania said a witness linked tanod Dandy Cocino, 30, of Purok Kamunsil and his companions Gerald Sison, 23, Romeo Gasapo, Jr., 21, Fernando Flores, 19, all of Hervias 2, Villamonte, to the robbery of JPCIPC Cargo forwarding company.

Jefferson Peñosa, 37, of C.L. Montelibano Drive, Brgy. Villamonte, and the owner of the forwarding company told the police that his secretary Herser Desoy discovered the robbery at about 5 a.m. Thursday.

Investigation showed that the suspects forced open the company’s roll-up door and destroyed its locks to gain entrance.

A trisikad driver, whose name was not disclosed, claimed that he saw the robbers coming out of the forwarding company at about 4 a.m. and loading several items into a vehicle, Aquitania said.

Among the items stolen were a desktop computer valued at P34,000, nine laptop computers worth P245,000, a computer netbook valued at P16,000, a rice cooker, valued at P1,500, a portable table valued at P1,500, 48 motorcycle tires worth P34,000, a computer printer valued at P9,000 and P19,000 in cash, a police report showed.

The suspects are now in the custody of Police Station 4 while charges are being readied against them.

Meanwhile, unidentified robbers broke into a residence at 21st-Lacson streets, Brgy. 4, Bacolod and took P88,300 in cash and items at about 9 a.m. Thursday.

Keith Chester Ong, 21, told the police that the suspects took a P55,000 laptop computer, two pairs of shoes valued at P7,400, eye glasses worth P2,000, a computer external drive valued at P4,500, a knapsack with personal belongings valued at P4,400 and P15,000 in cash.

Police Officer 2 Leomel Guinanao, case investigator, said the suspects detached two jalousie slats from the window of Ong’s house near the laundry area to gain entrance.*APN
