NegOr POC to conduct Peace Forum to mark National Peace Month

The Negros Oriental Provincial Peace and Order Council has lined up a series of activities including a peace forum, to commemorate September as the National Peace Month, a government press release said.

The forum to be held in Guihulngan City, will be attended by representatives from the academe, the police, military, government and civil society groups.

Other activities like the run or bike for peace, town-to-town relay, art for peace exhibit, and tree planting are expected to be conducted in the month-long celebration, the press release also said.

The PPOC said the activities aim to raise awareness of its effort to engage the Negrenses in the peace process and in the search for a just and lasting peace in the countryside, the press release added.*
