Caretaker of cock farm
stabbed dead in Murcia

A caretaker of a cock farm was fatally stabbed by still unidentified suspects in Brgy. Santa Cruz , Murcia town, Negros Occidental, yesterday.

Murcia town police chief, Senior Insp. Norberto Barniso, identified the fatality as Ricky Archa, 41, of Purok Madre Cacau in Brgy. Santa Cruz. He was found, bathed in his blood at a vacant lot in the purok at about 7 a.m., by residents, who immediately notified the police.

Barniso said that Archa, who worked in the cock farm owned by Gilbert Bocateja in the purok, succumbed to a lone stab wound on his chest.

The police believed that an ice pick was used in stabbing Archa, based on the size of his wound, Barniso said.

Robbery has been ruled out as the motive as Archa's personal things were found with his body.

The police believe there could be at least two suspects, who planned and carried out the killing, Barniso added.

In Bacolod City, Station 1 policemen ruled out the foul play angle in the death of a man staying at Balay Pag-asa in Brgy. 12, whose body was found at about 5 a.m. Saturday, as no hematoma had been found on it.

A certain Corazon, who is also temporarily staying at Balay Pag-asa, told the police that the man, aged between 20 to 25 years old and about 5 feet and 4 inches tall, had stopped eating several days before he was found dead.

The body is not at the Holy Angels Funeral Homes at Cuadra Street, Bacolod.*APN
