CEBU CITY - Jason Pagara unleashed his true potential and avenged his loss to Mexican Rosbel Montoya with a one-sided beatdown in Saturday night's Pinoy Pride XV at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Pagara immediately made his presence felt and sent Montoya to the canvas with a bone-crushing left hook to the ribs in the opening round.

The 21-year-old landed with pinpoint accuracy, while Montoya fired blanks and didn't look anything like the boxer that handed Pagara the second loss of his career a year ago.

Pagara continued to dig into the body of Montoya and dropped him again in the third round.

As Montoya seemed to have found his rhythm, Pagara landed a vicious right hook to the body that landed on the Mexican's arm.

Montoya seemed to have hurt his arm and turned to his side, forcing referee Danrex Tapdasan to intervene and he stopped it in the 1:41 mark of the sixth.

Pagara improved to 29-2 with 18 knockouts, while Montoya fell to 36-5-1 with 30 knockouts.

The 27-year-old Montoya was gracious in defeat and admitted that Pagara was the better fighter Saturday night. However, he hopes to land a trilogy with Pagara this year.

Both ALA Promotions president and CEO Michael Aldeguer and Pagara were open to a rematch, which could possibly take place on Oct. 20.

On the other hand, unbeaten Genesis Servania (19-0, 7 KOs) and veteran Jimrex Jaca (35-6-3, 19 KOs ) also logged impressive wins against their Mexican counterparts.

The 20-year-old Servania captured the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific super bantamweight strap with a lopsided unanimous decision over Jorge Pazos (21-4, 14 KOs ).

Servania outclassed Pazos the whole 12 rounds and dropped him thrice in the fight. All three judges scored the fight 118-107 for Servania.

Jaca had a picture perfect finish, knocking out 21-year-old Angel Martinez (18-3-1, 13 KOs ) with a second remaining in the eighth and final round.

Jaca caught a charging Martinez with a well-timed counter left hook to the jaw and knocked him out cold near the end of the bout.*PNA
