Workers’ compensation exec
to lead benefits seminar today

The Executive Director of the Employee’s Compensation Commission Stella Banawis is expected in Bacolod City today for a seminar on the Employees' Compensation Program.

Ma. Victoria Mondragon, provincial director of the Department of Labor and Employment of Negros Occidental, yesterday said about 195 employers from various sectors like the big sugar plantations, business process outsourcing companies, manufacturing, and contractors’ groups are invited to the orientation.

Mondragon said the ECP has different packages of benefits for employees and dependents of private and public sector in case of work-related accidents, disability, injuries, sickness, or death.

Banawis, will be joined by Ma. Cecilia Maulion, chief of Information and Publication Assistance Division, Dr. Ma. Sarah Antonia Concepcion, and Alicia Borres, to discuss more programs of the ECC, Mondragon said.

The seminar is scheduled tomorrow at O’Hotel, while Banawis and the ECC team will hold a press conference today with DOLE regional director. Ponciano Ligutom.

A representative from DOLE-Negros will discuss its livelihood programs and services that help beneficiaries improve their status of living though grants, she also said.*LTG
