Rape suspect apprehended

A man, nabbed for unjust vexation by Station 3 policemen at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City, turned out to be wanted for four counts of rape charges.

Station 3 chief, Senior Insp. Conrado Rances, said they initially arrested Jonathan Hachero, 27, of 27th Calamba Street, Brgy. 2, Bacolod, for unjust vexation after complains were made that he and his brother, Harold, had lobbed stones at a house in Purok Sawmill in the barangay.

Jonathan initially introduced himself as Julius Hachero, but when his mother visited him at the lockup cell of the station the following day, the police learned that he was using a fictitious name, Rances said.

Rances said they also learned that the suspect has four arrest warrants for rape issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Anita Chua, who set his bail at P200,000 for one count of rape but denied him bail for the rest of the complaints.

Hachero, a former maintenance crewmember of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation Port (BREDCO), denied the rape charges, and said he introduced himself as Julius since it is the name listed in his birth certificate.

The suspect will be transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology immediately, the police added.*APN
