Kami Mga Hubin hopes to bag the No. 1 spot when the 19th Sharp Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament resumes tonight at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

The Alimon Steel Bowling Team and Condura ASSFBI Ladies lead in the men’s non-rated and women’s bracket.

The KMH Robbie Elegado hold the lead with an 11th round total of 7,477 points, while the NPBC R J Stars of Steve Po trails with 7,360 pts..

Third is Sharp Aquos of Irne Diaz with 7,331 followed by Mulo Car Aircon Services of Romulo “D’Gunner” Ramos with 7,265.

Silverado ASSFBI had 7,188; TNT Construction/C-zar Machine Shop, 7,160; Davies “C”, 7,149; Davies “A”, 7,133; Davies “B”, 7,093, and ESD Electronz, 7,028.

Candles Alimon Steel headed by Melot Alimon retained the lead in the non-rated department with 7,192.

With the leading group in the same bracket are St. Joseph Alumni Association I, 7,176; Canvil Knights, 7,150; FRM Marketing, 7,137; St. Joseph II, 7,123; Metro Sales, 7,121; ESD Electronz I, 7,093; Bago City Bowlers, 7,066; RJ Stars, 6,982; RJPL, 6,979; Philippine Daily Inquirer, 6,912; Amor Adobo, 6,905, and Haier/Sanyo, 6,755.

In the ladies circle, Condura ASSFBI led by Juliet Regollo topped with 6,853, and St. Joseph Alumni Association headed by Minnie Chua was second with 6,772.

Lined up with the top two squads are Davies Fusion I, 6,728; Tiger Eye, 6,595; RJ Stars NPBC, 6,466; Panasonic/ON-BACIBA, 6,381; Davies Fusion II, 6,310; Kami Mga Gwapa, 6,282, and Racahe, 6,263.

Team’s highest single and double in the men’s category went to NPBC RJ Stars and KMH with 422 and 774 each, as St. Joseph Alumni Association in the women’s side with 373 and 690 pinfalls.

Record holders are Sylvia Del Rosario (Condura) in the women’s highest pinning with 98, while Rowena Juarez (RJ Stars) and Minnie Chua (St. Joseph) in single and double with 151 and 264, respectively.

NPBC/RJ Stars mainstay Willy Mahilum had the men’s highest single and double with 194 and 284 pinfalls, and Johann Genolos (Metro Sales) in the highest pinning with 98.

The top five teams in three divisions after tonight’s game will vie for the titular showdown on Aug.31. However, those seeded No.3 to 5 will be in a knock-out match on Aug.29 to determine which will join the top two squads in the up-the-ladder championship. *
