Joshbianc Motors wins crown
in Fil-Sino basketball tourney

Undefeated in the tournament with nine straight wins, Joshbianc completed the journey to the championship with an 87-76 taming of Orix Metro to bag the title in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade 2nd Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament, Wednesday night at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Joshbianc ruled the final game by outscoring Orix in the first three quarters and enjoying a 16-point lead going into the payoff period.

Arnol Laureño was an unstoppable force for Joshbianc in the shaded área as he got away with 17 points in the second quarter to give the team a 46-39 lead at the break.

Young glider Gonzaga tops
Skate Asia contest

Seven-year-old ice skater Alexa Gonzaga from the Philippines topped the Skate Asia competition held at the Sunway Mall in Malaysia recently by winning four gold medals in all the events she had entered.

Alexa, who competed with ice skaters from Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand and even from the Philippines, got her medals in Freestyle 3 Technical, Artistic, Footwork, and Solo Compulsory.

The young ice ace is the daughter of Tim and Mylene Gonzaga, and the granddaughter of Marilyn and the late Bacolod lawyer Edgar Abada, and Rosemarie Gonzaga.

She is a student of the International School in Manila.*
