Task Force Arles
probe still on
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Despite the filing of charges against the alleged suspects linked to the death of Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Henry Arles, the Task Forces Arles has not yet stopped its investigations, Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, former provincial police director of Negros Occidental, said yesterday.

Contrary to reports, Guisihan, who is now the chief of the directorial staff of the Police Regional Office 6, said, Task Force Arles has not been deactivated.

Task Force Arles is composed of the PNP Legal Service and Crime Laboratory, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Investigation, Operations and Intelligence Branches of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, including its police maneuver company, and the Kabankalan City and Ilog Police Stations.

While the National Bureau of Investigation has its own mandate to investigate the killing of Judge Arles, Guisihan said the Task Force Arles is also conducting a separate probe, although they are sharing and comparing notes.

The NBI-Bacolod has filed a complaint against Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez, a government employee, and five members of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade for the murder of Arles in Ilog, Negros Occidental, before the Department of Justice.

Guisihan said the Task Force Arles is still processing and verifying some information it has gathered, in connection with the murder of Arles.

In fact, he added, that Task Force Arles is also investigating a group of armed men operating in the hinterlands of Brgy. Salong, Kabankalan City.

Guisihan said the composition of Task Force Arles remains the same, except for him, as he is now assigned at the PRO6 headquarters in Iloilo City. * GPB
