Aquino, Liberal Party pay
tribute to Robredo

MANILA-- President Benigno Aquino III and members of the Liberty Party paid tribute to the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo during the memorial service Saturday evening at the Kalayaan Hall of Malacañang.

Among Liberal Party stalwarts who delivered their eulogies for Robredo include Liberal Party president and Transportation and Communications Secretary Mar Roxas; Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao Gov. Mujiv Hataman, Sen. Francisco Pangilinan, and House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte.

“As we look around us, we see the blossom of all his hardwork,” Roxas said.

AFP welcomes
134 new officers

MANILA - The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed 134 newly-commissioned officers during the Joint Graduation Ceremony of Pre-Entry Courses for Officers Saturday afternoon at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Col. Arnulfo Burgos Jr., AFP spokesperson, said the new officers comprise 33 for the Philippine Army, 57 for the Air Force, and 44 for the Navy.

During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Rolando Jungco, adjutant general, read the commissionship order to the candidates, officially making them members of the regular force of the AFP.
