Top 3 teams dispute
final slots in bowlfest

The quarterfinal round of the 19 th Sharp Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament starts tonight at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City .

Three teams in the Class A, non-rated and women's department hope to advance to the finals and play in the championship set on August 31.

In Class A, competing in today's round are No.3 seed NPBC/RJ Stars of Steve Po, Mulo Car Aircon Services headed by Romulo Ramos, and Davies “C” anchored by Romel Jover in Class A.

Seeded No.3 FRM Marketing of Fil Magbujos, St. Joseph Alumni Association I and II will vie for finals in Bracket B, while No.3 seed Vilma Robles' Davies Fusion I, the Tiger Eye of Cecil Biendo, and the RJ Stars NPBC of Rowena Juarez will compete in the women's division.

In the first game, Mulo Car Aircon will play against Davies in Class A, and St. Joseph II with sister team St. Joseph I in the non-rated category.

RJ Stars faces Tiger Eye in the women's division at 6 p.m.

The winner in each division will then challenge the No.3 seed in their respective category for the opportunity to advance to the finals on Friday.

Already assured of a spot in the championship are top qualifier Kami Mga Hubin composed of Wilson Casas, Djanggo Jarina and Odong Paran, and Sharp represented by Nonoy Hulguin, Matt Gaudite and Edgar De Leon in the premiere class.

The team-up of Edgar Allan Del Rosario, Ulysses Pacheco, Elmer Libo-on and Fred Mapano are the top seed in the non-rated category. Candles Alimon Steel also earned a spot in the finals.

Top qualifier in the women's bracket is Condura ASSFBI Ladies composed of Juliet Regollo, Sylvia del Rosario and Lea Javier, while St. Joseph Alumni piloted by Minnie Chua is seeded No.2.

The tournament's top 10 bowlers will vie for the title on Wednesday.*
