Deadline for
MusiKara set Aug. 31

The deadline for the submission of entries to the MusiKara: The Search for the 2012 MassKara Festival Music is at 5 p.m. on August 31, a press release from organizers said.

Announcement of the top 10 finalists will be on September 1, and the finals night on September 7 at the Bacolod Government Center.

The grand prize winner will receive P20,000 in cash and the song will become the official MassKara Dance Parade Music for 2012, while nine finalists will get P3,000 each, festival director Eli F.J. Tajanlangit said.

The songwriting competition, in partnership with ABS-CBN and MOR 101.5, is open to all bands that can compose and perform an original dance music that could be used for the festival, the press release said.

Demo CDs and registration forms should be submitted to MOR 101.5 Studio, ABS-CBN Broadcast Complex, at 26th Lacson Street in Bacolod City, the press release also said.

Meanwhile, applications for the MassKara kiosks at the plaza are still being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rental of kiosks facing San Juan Street is P12,000 each, P11,000 along Gonzaga Street, and P9,000 for those located at Gatuslao Street. Kiosks operation will run from October 1 to 22, the press release added.*
