Willtrade/Phoenix registers
4th win in BTTHS cagefest

Willtrade/Phoenix asserted its dominance over Avenue Suites with an emphatic 122–102 victory to register its fourth straight win and stay unbeaten in the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Alumni Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym.

With its formidable frontliners led by Bong Lopez, Rommel Ting, Siopao Dechavez, and Chingge Grandeza, Willtrade/Phoenix outscored and out-rebounded Avenue Suites for an overwhelming 33-13 first quarter lead.

Avenue Suites tried to bounce back in the second quarter with big man Pete Barcelona and Antonio Wong combining for 25 points, but Willtrade/Phoenix countered with 27 points from the pooled efforts of Malvin Pineda, Jepoy Nieles, and Third Deloso for a 67-43 halftime advantage.

In the third quarter, Avenue Suites made a run with Gene Sibaya and Luis Genobata hitting eight triples, but Willtrade/Phoenix's fastbreak attacks led by Shenly Uy, Carlo Chiu,Vince Lim, Roy Dominguez and Nico Yap steered the team out of trouble.

In the final quarter, the quintet of Nieles, Chiu, Larry Brill, Uy and Deloso managed to contain any further rally from Avenue Suites as they played a balanced game until the final buzzer.

Deloso topscored for Willtrade with 19 points, Nieles finished with 13, Pineda registered 12 points, Chiu tallied 11, and Lopez added 11 points.

Tony Wong led Avenue Suites with points, Luis Genobata scored 20, Pete Barcelona had 17 points, and Gene Sibaya chipped in 16 points.

In the other game, Davies Team bounced back with an 81 – 76 win over Team 10 to stay in contention for a quarter finals berth.

Jas Guevarra led Davies with 20 points, while Ben Lopez and Chibon Uy added 11 and 8 points, respectively.

Joseph Solivio scored 22 points for Team 10, while Bong Palo contributed 15, and Anton Comoda with 14 points.

Meanwhile, Chowking beat BTTHS juniors 85 to 79, while Team 6 triumphed over the varsity squad, 83-80.

Team 7 MS turned back Team 2 Ell Cargo 70-63, with Allan Pol Morales from batch 2007 scoring 13 points and Danny Boy Uy with 12 points.*NAB
