Two cousins were killed while one was injured when a rumble caused by a misunderstanding over a bingo game occurred in Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City, at about 11 p.m. Sunday.
Killed were Renato Fulgencio of Purok Roadside and Romy Canon, 34, of Purok Rojas, both in Brgy. Tangub, Station 8 chief, Senior Insp. Jerick Filosofo said.
Both sustained stab wounds on their chests and neck. They were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but were declared dead on arrival, Filosofo said.
One of the suspects, identified as Alberto Tolidano Sr., 63, who is Fulgencio's neighbor, sustained injuries and is now confined at the same hospital, while his son, Larry Tolidano, 26, evaded arrest, Filosofo added.
Investigation conducted by Police Officer 3 Noel Vergara showed that the elder Tolidano and Fulgencio had an argument that led to a fistfight while they were playing bingo in Purok Roadside at about 7 p.m. Sunday but were pacified.
Five hours later, Filosofo said Fulgencio and Canon summoned the elder Tolidano to his house and challenged him to another fight, and when he and his son came out, a rumble occurred among the four of them.
When their neighbors arrived to pacify them, Fulgencio, Canon and the elder Tolidano were seen lying on the pavement and were bathed in blood, while the younger Tolidano was no longer around, Filosofo added.
A 13-inch long knife and a bamboo pole were recovered from the crime scene, a police record showed.
Filosofo said they will take into their custody the elder Tolidano after his release from the hospital and he, along with his son, will be facing two charges for homicide.*APN
