Body formed to assess
VM bets in Bacolod
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Grupo Progreso under the Nationalist People's Coalition has formed a committee that is currently assessing and validating the winnability of its probable candidate for vice mayor, Bacolod Councilor Homer Bais said yesterday.

Bais said that he is willing to give up his political plan of running for vice mayor for the welfare and interest of their party.

He said the selection of the candidate for vice mayor is under the scrutiny and sound judgment of his party mates, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson.

Bais said he will respect their decision if ever they choose someone from within the party or an outsider for the position.

Even though he would like to run for vice mayor, he will put party interest over his own personal interest, he said.

“I will not hold hostage the party because I am a graduating councilor. What is good for the party should be supported and accepted," Bais said.

Bais, a former anchorman of Bombo Radyo, joined politics in 2004 and is completing his three full terms next year.

He landed top five in the 2004 elections and rose to the top 2 in the 2007 and 2010 elections.

Bais said he will support whoever will be chosen by the party to run for vice mayor.*CGS
