SJI 10-Under basketeers
win Growee 2012 crown
St. John’s Institute 10-and-under White team captured the Batang Growee 2012 basketball title by holding off University of St. La Salle Integrated School Team A, 60-55, during the championship game played at the Msgr. John Liu Activities Center.
Steven Pura and Most Valuable Player Andrei Lechonchito led the Baby Falcons with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
Pura scored 10 points in the opening quarter as he single-handedly outscored the Baby Stingers for a 16-7 lead.
| Talisay, La Castellana to The 2nd Governor Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. Boxing Tournament elimination round in the 3rd and 5th Districts of Negros Occidental will be held simultaneously on September 8 and 9 in Talisay City and at the La Castellana Covered Court. Provincial Sports Coordinator and Executive Assistant to the Governor Angel Verdeflor said the 5th District tournament was originally scheduled on September 1 and 2 but they have to reset the competition due to some hitches. |
