Broadway musical
set Dec. 7-8 at SU

A Broadway musical, “Into the Woods”, will debut at the Silliman University Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, on December 7 and 8, with matinee and gala shows at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, a press release from the school said.

The show features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and book by James Lapine. It is the story of a baker and his wife, who journey into the woods in search of a cow, a red cape, a pair of golden slippers, and some magic beans to lift a curse that has kept them childless.

The musical will showcase the school’s thespians and singers, directed by Vanessa Gaspay-Nezamloo, with musical direction by Elizabeth Susan Vista-Suarez, and includes oft-recorded songs, like the “Children Will Listen” and “No One is Alone”, the press release also said.

It is sponsored by the SU Cultural Affairs Committee, and is part of its 50th cultural season. Gala tickets are available at P200, P300, and P500; and P100 for matinee.

For ticket reservations and other inquiries, those interested may contact the CAC at (035) 422-4365 or 0917-513-3312, the press release added.*
