BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Lt. Commander Dominador Senador was officially replaced by Lt. Commander Glen Daraug as head of the Philippine Coast Guard-Bacolod City in formal turnover rites yesterday.

PCG Region 6 head, Commodore Athelo Ybañez, officiated at the turnover of command at the PCG headquarters in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod .

Daraug, former head of the Antique and Iloilo PCG, said he wants to acquire more vehicles for easy mobilization of Coast Guard personnel.

He said he will ensure that all sea vessels abide with the rules and regulations set by the Coast Guard and the Maritime Industry Authority.

Daraug admitted that he has a huge shoe to fill as replacement of Senador, but said he is optimistic that he can attain the achievements of his predecessors during his term.

Meanwhile, Senador said he is thankful to the PCG-Bacolod personnel for their support during his 13 months stay in the city that had resulted in several accomplishments.

Senador will be the new commander of the PCG in Iloilo City.

He said that, among the projects he was able to accomplish during his term in Bacolod, was the program on marine and environmental protection.

Senador also said he has coordinated closely with oil depots in Bacolod to ensure that their firms do not trigger oil spills.*APN
