Guirado, Cagara join Azkals
in semis match vs. Singapore

A few days ago Angel Guirado was unsure if his club Salgaocar F.C. will release him for the crucial AFF Suzuki Cup semifinal clash against Singapore tomorrow.

A day after the Azkals secured progression to the semi-final, Guirado was back in India as he was initially released to play for the group stage.

But on Wednesday, he was informed by national team liaison officer Ace Bright that his club has agreed to let the attacking midfielder continue his journey in the tournament with the Philippines.

Moments after being told of the news, Guirado took to Twitter to express his gratitude to team manager Dan Palami.

“Boss, thank you very much for your attention to my (situation),” wrote a delighted Guirado.

Also rejoining the team is defender Dennis Cagara who plays for German third-tier club Karlsruher SC.

The duo went their separate ways when the national them flew back to Manila following their group stage matches.

Philippines will take on Singapore at the Rizal Memorial stadium tomorrow before travelling to Jalan Besar Stadium for the return leg on December 12.*goal. com
