PVO cites stakeholders

The Provincial Veterinary Office in Negros Occidental recently awarded outstanding implementers, veterinarians, and local government units that helped in the development of the livestock industry of the province led by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr.

Dr. Renente Decena, provincial veterinarian, yesterday said they call the award the Negros First Livestock Award 2012 that recognizes the efforts and contribution of their workers and partners in the implementation of the programs of the PVO.

The categories were Best Implementer on Free Range Chicken Project, Dairy Development Project, Paravet Development Program, Swine Fattening Project, Swine Breeding Project, and Goat Breeding Project.

The awardees were Romeo Bagaforo of Hinoba-an, Dr. Leo Oquias of Kabankalan City, Dr. Jose Rey Tamparong of Himamaylan City, Paul Jake Tiangson of Sagay City and Bonie Regalla of Kabankalan City, Dr. Jose Rabanag of Cadiz City, and Dr. Jeff Reonal of San Carlos City.

Other best implementers were Dr. Baltazar Delorino (slaughterhouse project-Sagay), Dr. Enrique Barcelona (dressing plant monitoring-Silay), Llana Marie Gicaro (carabao breeding project-Bago), Ann Dyana Bolido (livestock auction market-Moises Padilla);

Dr. Alan Kam Pick So and Dr. Carlos Ceasar Catabas (rabies control program-Talisay and La Carlota), Henry Cepalon and Bienvinido Hacermida (rabies control program-Manapla and EB Magalona), Eugene Cabuguas (artificial insemination-Calatrava), Timothy Gargantiel (stray dog control-Kabankalan).

Best Breeding Center, Best Animal Genetic Improvement Center, and Best Implementer on Veterinary Quarantine Services were awarded to Sagay City, Kabankalan City, and San Carlos City, respectively.

Outstanding Veterinarian was Dr. Josue Rabang of Cadiz City while the Outstanding Livestock Inspector was Ann Dyana Bolido of Moises Padilla. PVO also recognized outstanding monitoring officers.

They were Pastors Noli Dequiña, John Sebua, Alberto Pahilagao, Asael Diamante, Manolo Panaguiton, Josue Salido, Jonahan Barroca, and Mateo Señeres.

Meanwhile, PVO gave certificates of appreciation to 31 LGUs in Negros Occidental and to the Negros Association of Animal Feeds and Drugs Suppliers for their support to their programs and projects, Decena also said.

Awards were also given to Jevi Genacial and Dr. Ma. Regina Gawan (Negros First Ranch Managers), Cathyrine Narez (Negros First Livestock Dispersal Program Coordinator), and Corazon Galon (Sheep Marketing Coordinator) for their outstanding work performance, he added.*LTG
