DOLE dared to penalize
erring employers in WV

The Kilusang Mayo Uno in Negros dared the Department of Labor and Employment in Region 6 to penalize employers violating Presidential Decree 851 or the 13thmonth law.

Ronald Ian Evidente, KMU Negros spokesperson and Anakpawis Partylist Secretary general, said in a press release that they want to hear news of employers being penalized for violating P.D. 851 for not paying and not reminders, because many establishments in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental province are not paying the 13thMonth Pay Law,”

Evidente said all rank and file employees are entitled to 13thmonth pay to be released before the 24thday of December. But many contractual employees and unorganized establishments reported to KMU that their employers are not paying and computing the benefits.

Evidente said they are urging workers especially non-unionized establishment and contractual employees to report it to KMU LaborCenter.

Employees who are deprived of their benefits may contact the KMU Labor Center Negros at cellphone number 09328616089, the press release said.*
