‘JV gains lead in Visayas’

Rep. JV Ejercito-Estrada is in the fourth spot among senatorial candidates in the Visayas a recent Pulse Asia survey showed, a press release from his office said.

Ejercito-Estrada who is running under the United Nationalist Alliance leaped by seven points from the last survey a couple of months ago that gave him an overall rating of 57 percent, up from 49.9 percent and a statistical ranking of 3 to 6, the press release said.

Ejercito-Estrada’s biggest gain came from urban Visayas where he increased his standing by 17 points followed by urban Luzon with +14 points, rural Visayas with +12 points and Mindanao, already an Estrada stronghold, with an additional 6 points, the press release said.

In the recent Pulse Asia survey, EJercito-Estrada was closely lagging behind Senators Francis Escudero with 74.1 percent, Loren Legarda with 69.3 percent and Alan Peter Cayetano with 60.1 percent, it also said.

Ejercito-Estrada was recently in Bacolod for the Masskara Festival. He considers Bacolod as his other home, owing to his mother’s roots, Bacoleña Guia Gomez, the press release said.*
