Farmer decapitated
over videoke noise

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

An argument over loud videoke music ended with the brutal killing of a rice farm owner in Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City, at about 9 p.m. Monday.

Alan Trajeros, 44, of Purok 18, Brgy. Alangilan had been decapitated and his right leg and arm amputated when his body was found, Station 5 chief, Senior Insp. Richee Gohee, said yesterday.

The suspects, Gary Fermalan, 28, and his brother Ricardo Fermalan, 38, of Purok 19, Brgy. Alangilan were also injured during their brawl with Trajeros and his unidentified companion, who fled after the incident, Gohee said.

Gary Fermalan sustained gunshot wounds on his right thigh and left foot, while his brother had hack wounds on both arms. They are both confined at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, police reports showed.

Initial investigation showed that the suspects were at their house celebrating Ricardo's birthday when they heard somebody shouting and complaining outside against the loud volume of their videoke sound system.

The suspects told the police that they went out to check who was shouting, but before the could go farther, Trajeros allegedly fired at them, hitting Gary.

When he saw his younger brother wounded, Ricardo said, he grabbed Trajeros from behind and bit his ear and they both fell to the ground.

While the older Fermalan and Trajeros were grappling, the victim's unidentified companion hacked Ricardo on the hands and fled, leaving the bolo he used, Gohee said.

Gohee said Ricardo released Trajeros after he was wounded but Gary took the bolo, hacked Trajeros on the leg, causing him to fall to the ground again.

Gary then hacked Trajeros' head, right leg and arm before the policemen and the barangay tanods arrived, Gohee said.

Trajeros' .38 caliber revolver, its two bullets and two empty shells were recovered from the crime scene, while the bolo used in decapitating him could not to be found, the police said.

Murder charges are now being readied against the Fermalan brothers.*APN
