Banago folk seek relocation
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

About 150 families from Purok Makawiwili, Barangay Banago and Purok Kasanag, Brgy. Mandalagan in Bacolod City, whose structures were demolished yesterday as ordered by the Court, are asking for relocation from the city.

Cesar Beloria, head of the Composite Enforcement Team of the City Legal Office, said yesterday that the affected families sought their help Tuesday and were complaining that their names were not included in the demolition order, yet their structures were demolished.

He clarified that it was not the city that had demolished their structures that were built on private property. The city is only trying to help those qualified in processing their application for relocation, he added.

Beloria said the National Housing Authority held a dialog yesterday with the affected families at the Government Center to find out if they are qualified.

He said they are being re-evaluated by BHA head Josephine Segundino and he will inform City Administrator John Orola Jr. about their situation.

Beloria said he hopes the city could help those qualified to avail of relocation, but there is nothing they can do for those who are not qualified.

The affected families are living in an area where a new bridge is being constructed that will connect Purok Kasanag, Mandalagan to Brgy. 1 in Banago, he added.*CGS
