recovers motorcycles

The police recovered Thursday two motorcycles that were reported stolen or loss on Dec. 10 and 12, in Candau-ay and GK2, Bajumpandan Dumaguete City.

Rogie Arapoc, owner of the Yamaha Crypton 100 cc, reported to the police that he had parked his motorcycle in front of his house in Pinili, Candau-ay, in the evening before he slept and when he woke up in the morning it was gone.

On Dec. 13 he was informed by the Dumaguete City Police that his motorcycle had been recovered in Nagbalaye, Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental, more than 100 km. south of Dumaguete, and was at the Sta. Catalina Police Station for safe-keeping.

A black Honda dream 100 motorcycle owned by Antonio Sarao, 52, of GK2, Bajumpandan, was also recovered by the police.

The owner reported that the motorcycle was parked and chained to the tree behind his house. He said his daughter, Joana Sarao, saw the suspect Jojo Tabunda saw the chain and take the motorcycle.

The police was able to recover the stolen motorcycle at a pawnshop and it is now in the custody of the Dumaguete City Police.

Meanwhile, another motorcycle was reported missing late Thursday afternoon in front of the Hall of Justice in Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City.

Its owner Melba Villahermosa, of Bag-ong Dalan, Taclobo, reported the loss of a ZusikHayati 125cc black motorcycle to the police.

Police investigation disclosed that the motorcycle was parked in front of the Hall of Justice building in Piapi that was manned by parking attendant Wencislao Pulanco, 69, of Purok 2, Batinguel.

Villahermosa said she parked her motorcycle at the Captain Table Restaurant in Piapi at 3:10 p.m. and went inside the Hall of Justice. At about 4 p.m. she discovered that her motorcycle was missing.

She confronted Pulanco who said he did not know who took the motorcycle. She asked Pulanco to go with her to the police station for further investigation on the loss of the motorcycle.

The police are following up the incident.*RG
