A branch manager and grill crew member were swindled allegedly by a “budol-budol gang” recently in Dumaguete City.
Victims Cerela Flores, 29, manager of Mang Inasal, and Marlon Cancio, 27, told the police a man entered the store and asked for its telephone number.
A few minutes later, Flores received a telephone call from a certain “Dra. Degamo” of the Holy Child Hospital, who ordered the delivery of four cans of soft drinks and 10 pieces of chicken cue, all worth P1,140, the police said.
The caller also said if there were small bills, amounting to P15,000, they can be exchanged for big denominations at the hospital.
The police said that Cancio, who made the delivery to the hospital, was met by “Miguel Degamo”, who told him to give him the P15,860 and then go to the second floor of the HCH to get the small bills and the payment for the orders, in the secretary’s room.
But when Cancio told the information desk about “Dra. Degamo’s” order, he was told that there was no such person in the hospital.
The Dumaguete PNP is now investigating the incident.*RG
