Jover, De Paula win
master bowler crown

Romel Jover of Batch ’74 and Vita De Paula of C’70 topped their respective events to win the master bowler title in the President’s Cup Christmas Bowling Tournament organized by the Negros Occidental High School at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Jover, the top qualifier in the men’s division, won over teammate Felipe Boy Romero Jr. in the finals, 125-123, while De Paula downed Lolita Cual of C’66 in the women’s department, 107-106.

Romero, who was last in the up-the-ladder system as No.4 seed will challenge Jover by defeating No.3 C’68 bet Cero Cordova in the quarterfinals, 110-108.

In the semifinals, he beat No.2 seed Ed Jara of C’62, 111-109.

De Paula, on the other hand, advanced to the final round against Cual after top seeds Ann Dayot and teammate Ronel Cordero did not show up for the master’s competition.

Meanwhile, the quarterfinal rounds of the Christmas Cup Open Trio Bowling Championship is set today at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

In the first game, TNT Construction/Mechelec faces Davies II at 6 p.m. in the premiere class A division, and Metro Sales the Flores Team in the men’s non-rated bracket.

The winners will go up against No.3 in their respective categories for the right to challenge No.2 seeds NPBC RJ Stars and Canvil Knights in the semi-final match.

Waiting for the winners are Mulo Car Aircon and ESD Electronz.

Twice-to-beat are top qualifier Sharp (Premiere division); Davies III (Non-rated), and St. Joseph Alumni Association Adventurer’s (Women).

The other contenders for the crown in the distaff side are Condura ASSFBI Ladies, Davies Fusion, Tiger Eye and Panasonic-ON-BACIBA.*HLG
