The two-storey municipal heath center and maternity clinic of EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, built through the effort of Gov. Alfredo Maranon Jr., Rep. Alfredo Benitez and the municipal government, is now operational.
Mayor David Albert Lacson yesterday said the completion of the mini-hospital, as it is described by Marañon, will further boost the delivery of health services to the residents of EB Magalona.
Lacson said the provincial government gave P2 million, while Rep. Benitez shared P1 million, on top of P2.5 million counter-part of the municipal government, that led to the realization of the project.
The 511.7 square-meter municipal health building is equipped with an emergency room, laboratory, maternity facilities, family planning room and clinic, dental and rural sanitary inspection rooms, among others.
Dr. Edmundo Janeo is the new municipal health officer of EB Magalona.
Marañon, who attended the inauguration and blessing of the health facility, accompanied by Board Members Nehemias de la Cruz, Melvin Ibanez and Salvador Escalante, hailed the effort of municipal officials headed by Lacson, for the project.
Also present were Vice-Mayor Rex Depasucat and members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Association of the Barangay Captains headed by Councilor Hilario Malacon, health center staff, Fr. Arlo Lanusa, and others.* GPB back
