Negros Occ. athletes ready
for 2013 WVRAA in Capiz

After holding the Palarong Panlalawigan this week, all winners in the different events will start preparing for the province's participation in the 2013 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Assn. Meet that will be hosted by Capiz.

Romeo Sison, Negros Occidental DepEd sports coordinator, confirmed yesterday that Gov. Victor Tanco of Capiz wrote a letter of intent to DepEd Regional Director Mildred Garay, manifesting his willingness to host the regional meet.

Sison said that initial date of the competition is on Feb. 17 to 21, and they will hold a meeting among the coaches first week of January next year.

Earlier, the DepEd regional office announced that the regional meet will have a home-and-away format, with the participating provinces holding different events.

Sison said they were glad that Capiz has come forward and expressed its willingness to hold the games.

Negros Occidental, which hosted the 2012 WVRAA at the Panaad this year, is the perennial overall champion in the meet, participated by the six provinces in the region.*NAB
