Marañon invites
Lim-ao to b-day

Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. is inviting Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez Jr., members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and municipal and city mayors to his birthday celebration at the Nature's Village Resort Hotel in Talisay City, today.

Asked if he is going to the birthday party of the governor, however, Alvarez did not say he was going but merely wished him a happy birthday.

Marañon's birthday will be highlighted by a 10 a.m. thanksgiving mass to be officiated by Fr. Armand Onion of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish, a press release from the Capitol said.

A short program will follow where a tribute will be given to the top Capitol executive by beneficiaries of his flagship programs--agriculture sector, para-vets from the livestock group and other sectoral representatives, congressmen, mayors, department heads and provincial government employees, among others, it said.

Regional Director Larry Nacionales of the Department of Agriculture is also attending the governor's birthday celebration, as well as SP Member Melvin Ibañez, who will speak on behalf of the provincial board members.

Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer (Neg. Occ., 4 th District) will also be at the celebration along with E.B. Magalona Mayor David Albert Lacson, who will pay tribute as president of the Association of Chief Executives-Negros, the press release said.

The ceremonial turnover of life vests for Negros Occidental's Water Safety Program from the Korean Embassy will also serve as one of the highlights of the governor's celebration, it said.

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena, president of the Provincial Executives Association of Negros Occidental, will speak on behalf of the Capitol department heads; Alfredo Dinoy, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees for PACE, and Elizabeth Suyod, chairperson of the CAPGEM Community.*
