Talisay job fair slated

Talisay City will open its 14th Charter Anniversary Celebration with a job fair on February 6 at the city’s public plaza, a press release from the city said.

Mayor Eric Saratan, Vice-Mayor Neil Lizares and other city officials, OIC DOLE Region VI Director Crispin Dannug, DOLE LEO Victoria Mondragon, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Director Lorena Yunque and Department of Labor will attend the opening program at 8 a.m.

The activity called “Obra Para Sa Masa,” is among the programs of the city to assist job-hunters, the press release said.

Saratan said he believes that regularly holding job fairs in the city will ease the unemployment problem that other local government units are also facing, the press release said.

Talisay City PESO manager, executive assistant Gilbert Robles said nine local companies will participate in the event.

These are Ayala Land-Vismin, Pepsi Cola, AB Leisure Global Inc./Belle Grande (Manila), Nature’s Village Hotel & Restaurants, Robinsons Place Bacolod, Dynamic Builders, Panasiatic Solutions, Transcom, and TeleTech.

Job orders include those for engineers, store supervisors and managers, marketing and sales representatives, sales clerk, hotel & restaurant personnel, accountants, call center agents, housekeeping and servicing personnel sales operators, HRD assistants, construction workers, among others, the press release said.

Interested applicants are advised to bring comprehensive resumé and 2x2 I.D. pictures.
