Mayor Doc Eric bootfest
opens Feb. 11 in Talisay

Strengthening its bid to become the “football capital” of Negros Occidental, Talisay City will host the Mayor Doc Eric National Football Festival February 9 to 12 at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College pitch and Talisay City Football Field.

Executive Assistant and City Sports Administrator Warren Concepcion said teams from Iloilo, Negros Oriental, and Cebu are expected to join the tournament that will be played in eight categories.

The 7-a-side bootfest will kick off on February 9 and will be played in Under 13 boys and girls, Under 18 boys, and men 38-Above, 10-Under boys/girls or mixed, Under 15 boys, ladies open and men’s open.

Concepcion said the tournament is part of the 14th Charter Anniversary celebration of Talisay on February 11.*NAB
