Niños birthday

buddai

Last week I attended a three-day retreat with Fr. Mariano Agruda III, as retreat director, with Fr. Ronald Nopre and Bro. Dodong Nalzaro, called the “Discernment Retreat with St. Teresa.”

To discern is not merely to distinguish between good and evil, but to differentiate between good and greater good.

The last time I had a retreat was 35 years ago. It was at a simple convent on the hill. But now, together with the “Berks,” we were welcomed to a white building conducive to meditation and praying.

Big acacia trees, mahogany and pine trees surround the retreat hill and gave shade and a nice view of the surrounding flowering plants.

During our free time, we enjoyed walking to the lake, surrounded by green grass and some shade trees and fresh air. We had responsible time, vigil and sharing, and a mass everyday.

I felt like a new “Excuse Moi” when I left the Ladies Hall. It was a really significant spiritual religious retreat.

Niño Ciocon Mapa celebrated his third birthday at a party held at the big La Proa Ballroom, of L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod last Sunday, with mommy and dad, and sister Louie and cousin Russ and classmates.

Papa Roseller Ciocon and Mama Ditas were also there, and Mama Del Granada helped welcome the guests who arrived with their parents and yayas.

We enjoyed munching the side offerings like popcorn, boiled corn, ice cream and many more, before the merienda. All the children participated in the games played. It was really a joyful party.

For give-aways, there are bags full of goodies, pink for girls and blue for boy. To dear Niño, more birthdays to celebrate and God bless.

Remember: A heart who seeks God first thing in the morning, will find joy, peace and security even in the midst of stormy days. Smile, it is going to be a great day for us.

God bless to all DAILY STAR readers.*
