‘Trash to cash’ project
on at city mall

SM City Bacolod holds a Trash to Cash Recycling Market Fair every first Friday and Saturday of each month.

This reduces solid wastes of tenants and encourage shoppers to practice waste segregation, a press release from the mall said.

The Recycling Market “Trash to Cash” event was launched February 2007 to raise awareness in the community on the environment efforts of the mall.

This promotes benefits of waste segregation and recycling. The disposal of unused materials/waste in an environment friendly way through groups of responsible recyclers gives one an additional income from the sale of waste material that has been regarded as no value, the press release said.

This event is participated in by customers and the rest of the community held simultaneous in all SM malls. The next market fair is on March 2 and 3, the press release added.*
