MANILA – Armed Forces deputy chief of staff Lt. Gen. Anthony Alcantara has been named as the new commanding general of the Northern Luzon Command the post vacated by Lt. Gen. Jessie D. Dellosa who is now the chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Alcantara will assume his new post at Camp General Servillano Aquino in Tarlac City today.
Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin will be the guest of honor and speaker.
Brig. Gen. Rolando Tenefrancia, member of the Philippine Military Academy “Matapat” Class of 1979, will assume his new post as commanding general of the AFP Civil Relations Service. He is the current chief of staff of the Philippine Army.
To take over Tenefrancia’s position is Brig. Gen. Maximo Caro, commandant of the Cadet Corps AFP, PMA. He is a member of the PMA “Sandigan” Class of 1982.
Brig. Gen. Nestor Deona will be the new commander, 2nd Air Division, Philippine Air Force. He is the current Deputy Commander of the 2nd Air Division based in Mactan-Benito Ebuen Air Base, Lapu-Lapu City, and is a member of the PMA “Mapitagan” Class of 1980.
To replace Deona as the new Deputy Commander of the 2nd Air Division is Brig. Gen. Edwin Manuel Remotigue, the current Wing Commander, Air Defense Wing of the Philippine Air Force based in Floridablanca, Pampanga and is a member of the PMA “Dimalupig” Class of 1981.
Replacing Remotigue, is Col. Raul Del Rosario, the current Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Intelligence, A2, PAF and a member of the PMA “Maharlika” Class of 1984.
Brig. Gen. Ricardo Rainier Cruz III will be the new commander of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, Philippine Army. He is the current Assistant Division Commander of the 10th Infantry Division, PA, based in Mindanao. He is a member of the PMA “Mapitagan” Class of 1980.
To replace Cruz as the new Assistant Division Commander, 10th ID, PA, is Brig. Gen. Leonilo Bongcawil, the current commander of the 701st Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, and a member of the PMA “Sandigan” Class of 1982.*PNA back
