Police recovered four alleged loose guns and a grenade in the cities of Talisay, Bacolod and La Carlota and in Cauayan town, Negros Occidental, early this week.

Cuayan town policemen arrested Raul Ricaborda, “alias Frances”, 21, of Sitio Mainit in Brgy. Poblacion at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday and seized from him a .357 caliber revolver with defaced serial numbers and four live ammunition.

An improvised long firearm was also recovered by barangay tanods in Sitio Caingilan, Brgy. La Granja in La Carlota City at about 1 p.m. Monday during a benefit dance at the place, which they endorsed to Captain Nanette Escarsa, who turned it over to the police.

Senior Police Officer 1 Renzie Lambayong and Police Officer 1 Richard Villan, meanwhile, arrested Rene Juaniza, 26, of Brgy. Dos Hermanas in Talisay City at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A .357 caliber revolver and an apple grenade were recovered from Juaniza, police records showed.

In Bacolod City, Police Officers 1 Jerico Candiasan and Randy Plantig arrested an unemployed man at about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday in front of the Kaisei Restaurant at 10th-Lacson streets for alleged illegal gun possession.

Nabbed was Ryan Villacin, 26, of Purok Riverside in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod.

Policemen seized a pingun with live ammunition for a .38 caliber revolver from Villacin when he was arrested.

A security guard of Kaisei Restaurant, whose name was not disclosed, complained that Villacin and his companions Ramil Crispo, 31, of Purok Cagaycay in Brgy. 2, Bacolod and Adrian Suante, 28, of Brgy. Pandanon Silos in Murcia town Negros Occidental were sleeping in front of the establishment.

Suante and Crispo were also detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 2 and will be charged for vagrancy, the police said.*APN
