The Office of the Ombudsman–Visayas and the San Carlos Diocesan Social Action Foundation Inc. will hold a caravan of government social services at the San Carlos City auditorium tomorrow, a press release from the Negros Occidental Capitol yesterday said.
Participating are national government agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations in Region 6 who will set up booths that will open at 8 a.m. San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. and Ma. Sonnette Daquita of the Ombudsman Region VI, will cut the ceremonial ribbon.
Minda Brigoli, director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6, will turn over checks to beneficiaries of the cash-for-work program.
Evangeline Nuñal, associate graft investigating officer and caravan project coordinator, said the activity is in line with the Ombudsman’s principle of reaching out to the people for them to be aware of the services offered by government agencies.
Started in 2008 in Western Visayas, the caravan is in partnership with San Carlos City, the Philippine Minnesotan Medical Mission, and the San Carlos Medical Society, the press release added.*
