fell in TKP cagefest

Undefeated Class B teams 888 Chinatown Square and RU Shredder  fell to separate opponents Monday night as their winning streak ended in three games in the 12th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Alfie’s Construction rallied past 888 Chinatown Square, 88-84, while RU Shredder overhauled a 26-point third quarter deficit but fell short against Buddy Johann Kendrick Tan.

888 Chinatown could not protect its 80-78 lead in the last two minutes as Alfie’s Peter Galon scored six straight points and Bobby Yap’s triple sealed the victory for Alfie’s.

Lin lifts Knicks
over Toronto

Jeremy Lin scored a game-high 27 points and a career-high 11 assists as the New York Knicks extended their win streak by rallying in the fourth quarter to beat Toronto, 90-87.

Lin scored the game-winning three pointer with half a second left in the fourth for the Knicks, who have won six consecutive games.

Lin also surpassed Shaquille O'Neal's league record for the most points in his first five games as a starter. Lin has 136 points over that span, compared with O'Neal's 129.

LJP grabs lead
in bowling tilt

LJP Trading/NPBC grabbed the lead  in the fifth round of competition  in the Edjie  and Maila Balayo Four-Man Team Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Anchored by by Gil Villagante, the  frontrunner rolled a  night-high 1,236 pinfalls to dislodge sister team RJ Star NPBC of Rowena Juarez from the top seat.

LJP now  has  a five-round output of 6,161 for an average of 1,232.20 balls per outing.
