PHL souvenir shop
up for World Expo

ECHOstore Sustainable Lifestyle will operate the souvenir shop of the Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo 2012 in Yeosu, South Korea for three months starting May 12 until August 12 this year, Jeannie Javelosa, executive director of Echosi Foundation, said yesterday.

ECHO is the acronym for Environment and Community Hope Organization.

Javelosa said they will bring Filipino-made products  designed by small exporters and those of ECHOstore made and crafted by their assisted cultural communities.

With the theme, "The Living Ocean and Coast," the Philippine Pavilion will be represented by retailers who will bring the best foot of the country to engage the international community to visit the Philippines, she also said.

She added that  the expo  is an opportunity for them to promote the eco-friendly products and practices and show to the world that Philippines has a green and eco-friendly specialty market.

It retails designed products of marginalized communities.

The products  it  will bring to Korea are all natural body basics, bags made from recyclable materials, handcrafted abaca summer bags, home decors, gifts, fashion accessories, health and wellness, body, beauty, and nutritional products, food and beverage, and products that help the environment including books and music, Javelosa said.

ECHOStore will also operate a souvenir shop on the Manila Fame: The Design and Lifestyle Event 2012 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila on March 14 to 17.

Manila Fame is  Asia’s second longest-running trade shows that premier trade event for fashion, holidays and gifts, and furniture and furnishings, she added.*LTG
