The Committee on Provincial Livestock Management and Dispersal of Negros Occidental will have a public hearing today with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Dr. Renante Decena, provincial veterinarian, said yesterday.
Decena said they will discuss the procedures of selling the sheep purchased from Australia and their proposed prices.
Female sheep is priced at P16,000 and the male at P20,000, though these are still subject to the approval of the SP, Decena said.
The committee is chaired by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and members are Enrique Pinongan, provincial administrator; Lucil Pines of the general services office; Mary Ann Lamis, assistant provincial legal officer; Board Member Miller Serondo, SP chairman on Committee of Agriculture, and himself, Decena said.
Meanwhile, Decena and Marañon visited the Negros First Ranch in Sta. Rosa, Murcia, yesterday and monitored the progress on the farm development.
He said the sheep will be ready for dispersal on Feb. 26 and the official prices will be announced after the third reading of the ordinance on the establishment of the Negros First Ranch and the sale of farm produce. *LTG
