The national meet  2012 of State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association Sports opened yesterday in Iloilo City with  a parade from the Iloilo Provincial Capitol  to the Iloilo Sports Complex.

Seeing action in the weeklong sports and cultural meet are chartered colleges and universities all lover the country.

The participating institutions in the Western Visayas region are Aklan State University; Caiz State University (Roxas City); Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (Negros Occ.); Guimaras State College; Iloilo State College of Fisheries (Barotac Nuevo); Negros State College of Agriculture (Kabankalan City);

Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (Estancia, Iloilo); Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (Sagay City, Negros Occ.); University of Antique; West Visayas College of Science and Technology (Iloilo City) West Visayas State University (Iloilo City).

Up for grabs are gold, silver, and bronze medals in athletics,  badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, softball; swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, karatedo, volleyball, beach volleyball, and dance sports.*PNA
