About 6,000 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in San Carlos City got P9.8 million during the recent on-site distribution and cash cards from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The beneficiaries came from the 18 barangays in San Carlos where the Caravan of Social Services of the Office of the Ombudsman was held February 16 at the San Carlos City Auditorium, a Philippine Information Agency press release said.
DSWD is among the national government agencies that rendered services to the people of San Carlos City.
Assistant Graft Investigation Officer III Evangeline Nuñal of the Office of the Ombudsman said that the activity is part of the thrust of the OMB to bring social services to the people.
Meanwhile, Rep. Julio Ledesma IV (Neg. Occ., 1st District), in his message, lauded the 4Ps programs that are anchored on the importance of the family as a basic unit of society.
Ledesma said he has been very blessed and now, he wants to share his wealth with his constituents, especially with the people of San Carlos
He expressed his all-out support to the caravan and wants it to be not just a once-a-year activity but prefers to have it twice a year.
Providing direct conditional cash transfers to the poor through the 4Ps is a priority strategy of the Philippine Development Plan for the social development sector, the press release also said.* back
