‘Buhawi’ hits 21 houses
in Kabankalan

A whirlwind (buhawi) damaged 21 houses in a remote barangay of Kabankalan City Monday afternoon, Kabankalan City Mayor Isidro Zayco said yesterday.

The whirlwind hit Barangay Bantayan, 55 kilometers from the city proper, at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Zayco said.

Zayco who visited the site hit yesterday morning said roofs of houses made of light materials were blown off, while some pigpens were destroyed.

The city government is providing assistance to thoseaffected, he said.*CPG
