5th Park Volley opens Feb. 25

The 5th USLS-VSO-PESAR Dept Inter-Collegiate Park Volleyball Festival takes centerstage Saturday at the University of St. La Salle football field.

Thirty volleyball courts will be installed at the football field for the one-day 4-a-side competition for men and women, with each team composed of eight players.

Organizers are expecting to break last year’s record of 171 participating teams as entries from different schools in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City are expected to join in the competition.

Thirty volleyball courts will be installed at the football field for the matches to start simultaneously, tournament director Efren Timtiman said.

Last year, Bago City College dominated both the men and women's division, while Carlos Hilado Memorial State College and Kabankalan Catholic College placed second and third, respectively.

The event is organized by Negros Occidental Volleyball Association headed by former Philippine Volleyball Federation President Roger Banzuela and sanctioned by PVF.

The tournament is sponsored by University of St. La Salle, Varsity Sports Office, SHARE Outreach Program, PESAR, Negros Occidental Volleyball Association and Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association.*
