NCR dominates
SCUAA meet

ILOILO CITY - Defending champion National Capital Region continued to reign in the 2012 State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association National Olympics with its swimming team hauling medals from pool to boost its medal tally to 37 golds, 23 silvers, and 30 bronzes.

Coming in at a far second is Region 6 with 18 golds, 17 silvers, and 13 bronzes, but the host region has expressed confidence that NCR's lead, although seemingly formidable, may yet be trimmed down with anticipated victories by Region 6 in ball games, boxing, and athletics in tomorrow’s final day.

In football and basketball, Region 6 has entered the semis with lopsided wins in both events.

Meanwhile, NCR has won the championship title in men’s table tennis by beating Region 5 in the final match, while it’s women team placed second after bowing to Region 3.

Other regions on the top 10 rankings are Region 1 with one gold and three silvers, 6th; Region 5 with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, 7th; Region 10 with one gold and one bronze medal, 8th; Region 2 with one gold, 9th; and Region 12, 10th place.

Tied for the 11th rank are Region 7, Region 8, ARMM, CAR and Region 11.*PNA
