Bikers converge

Bikers from all over the country are expected to converge in Negros Oriental today for a cause called the “Ride for the Children” initiated by Rep. Pryde Henry Teves (Negros Oriental, 3rd District), president of the OGBU bikers in Negros Oriental.

 The big bikers will donate school supplies, toys, slippers and the like to public school children in selected schools in the Third District.

Councilor Dan Leon, a member of the host big bikers club said around 150 big bikers from the Visayas and Mindanao have been to the activity, who have a mass start from Dumaguete to the south, bringing with them their donations.

As a group, Leon said they will also promoted the use of helmets, which is required of big bikers.

This is the 7th year of the “Ride for the Children” project and organizers hope to cover more areas in Negros Oriental in the years to come.

Last year, the were in Bayawan and Basay on Saturday, they will also be in Siaton, and Dumaguete.*JG
