The 303rd Infantry Brigade and the 62nd Infantry Battalion have been adjudged the “best Army units’” of the 3rd Infantry Division in Negros and Panay island, for the fourth quarter of 2011, military records show.

Lt. Col. Isabelo de los Reyes yesterday said the 303rd Infantry Brigade, which is headed by Col. Oscar Lactao, bested the 301st and the 302nd Infantry Brigades, stationed in Iloilo and Negros Oriental, respectively.

De los Reyes added that the 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion was also adjudged as the best battalion of the 3rd ID.

In the same period, the 303rd IB, and the 62IB, which are now under the stewardship of Lt. Col. Efren Morados, were also adjudged as best in TRIAD operations, which involve the synchronized conduct of combat, intelligence and civil military operations.

The evaluation report of the 3ID also showed that the 302nd Infantry Brigade headed by Col, Francisco Patrimonio and 47th Infantry Battalion under the command of Lt. Col. Rodrigo Sosmena, were also adjudged as best in administrative operations.

The 3ID supervises the internal security operations of eight Army infantry battalions in Negros and Panay island.

In the third quarter of 2011, the 303rd and 62nd IBs were also adjudged as best infantry brigade and battalion, respectively, military records also show.*GPB
